Letter #7 – ✍️ Writing from NYC 🍎
In this letter 💌, we’ll share:
Our entire index fund portfolio, including the breakdown of each fund group
Annnnnnd our financial routine at the start of each month
Writing down the same things every day, like 'I’m grateful for my health,' felt repetitive and hollow.
But on this wild ride to Financial Freedom, we've learned it's all about keeping our cool 🥒 during emotional roller coaster 🎢 of financial ups and downs.
Losing money 💸 due to a stupid mistake stings 😫—but the real pain comes from the arguments, lost hours to frustration, and Tyler having to make his own dinner. 😶
'Count your blessings,' they say.
This year, out of the blue, Angie’s dad was hit with a series—not just one or two, but a series!!!—of serious health issues. Every trip to the hospital and every new test result brought waves of anxiety to the family. 😰
Living under the uncertainty of his health conditions for months was a powerful reminder that no amount of money can replace time with loved ones or their health.🤌
So, when Airbnb issues exhaust us, we remind ourselves, 'We’re grateful that our loved ones are in good health.' 🙏
Gratitude journaling at 9 AM every day 🌞 may never work for us, but cultivating a grateful mindset is key to staying sane. 💎
So, prepare yourself a mantra for those tough financial moments—it’ll get back hours of joy ✨ into your day.

Staying productive is Angie’s version of therapy. 😌
So, while trying to 'relax' yesterday, she decided to audit our entire index fund investments. Super chill, right? 🤭
Keep in mind, we started investing in index funds before we even knew what we were doing 😅—hence the 'Target Date Funds' category.
And that’s why we’re writing this newsletter, to help you avoid the trial and error we went through.

✅ Reconcile our budgets
✅ Make donations from our Generosity budget
✅ Invest in index funds (most of our investments are automatic, but we manually invest the portion that varies with our monthly income)
That's it for today. Hope it's helpful for your journey to Freedom 🙏
Love you to freedom and back, 🫰
Angie & Tyler

P.S. Let’s spread the love 🫶 If you know someone who could benefit from our tips, feel free to forward this email to them 💌!
If you’re into sour candies, 🍬 you’ve got to check this out. The men in Tyler’s family have a serious sour tooth. For Tyler’s dad’s birthday, we got him these saliva-inducing candies, 💦 and they were a huge hit—gone in a day! It got so out of control that we had to hide the candy bag just so Tyler’s dad could actually enjoy his own birthday gift. 😅
Another birthday gift for Tyler’s parents (their birthdays are just 2 days apart) is this set of conversation cards. They’ve really spiced up our family chats 🔥—more things to talk about, more trips down memory lane, and wayyy more laughs. Plus, it’s a great way to show some love and appreciation, which we can never do too much of! 😉
